 My Little Farm...

This summer we have had increased interest and awareness of little farms that are in the area making an important impact on how people view gardening and down-home goodness. I took this picture at a farm in Cedar City Utah called Red Acre Farm link to website here.I am still learning about it and the community effort they have to create a fun and learning atmosphere that is quickly becoming a gathering place for the special events they sponsor. You can stop by anytime and check out their little farm stand or even order goods online. We have taken a couple of trips to enjoy home cooking on the farm. We took our little granddaughters and had a wonderful day exploring and watching the gardens grow, the lama get sheered and the pig just snooze away the morning. 

I have to admit I love the idea of having a little farm like that. So many things I love there. Upon our return to our home. I went out and fed the chickens, checked the garden, and when I came in the house after all was done this is what I saw....








...So what can I say... without even realizing it, I have been blessed more than I even knew... right here on "my little farm."

One word ...Abundance!
Okay, one more word...Gratitude!

Celebrating Life! What I have learned... (One final lecture) If you had one final lecture to share with a group of students on what you have learned from this course, what would you share? Lead your life!      Early in this semester I was introduced to Randy Pausch. His story was touching and inspiring as he had the chance to have clarity to what is most important at the end of life. He said in his last lecture at Carnegie Mellon University,  " It's not about how to achieve your dreams, it's about how to  lead your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself. The Dreams will come to you." It struck me that he used the word "lead" instead of "live." I learned from Pausch that it is up to me to take initiative, to LEAD my life. The entrepreneurial journey is one of filling dreams and pursuing ideas. Turning 60

  Turning 60... I remember thinking 25 was years away...but it came and went..and so did another 25 years and now I have added 10 years on to that. I have found something really unexpected happened. I am embracing it wholeheartedly! More than ever, I realize there is no time to waste in life. Time is such a precious commodity but the quality of it is my choice. What I do with it is up to me. I still feel excited about new things like when a school year ends and a  new one begins. I am just finishing a Semester and I have been a bit overwhelmed. But I am living proof, you can begin again and again and there is joy to be found in it. The past few months have been really full of amazing experiences...especially the last few weeks. I shared some amazing moments with family and friends. Also this month I really took time to consider our country's amazing history. I was able to go to a crazy cool exhibit brought to town by Glen Beck. I learned a lot and really came to admire the man...

When I'm Lost...

  When I'm Lost... This week with my class I feel like I am walking down a path and there are no resting spots, no signs posted that let me know how close or not I am at arriving at my destination. There is no one to sit down with to explain what I am doing or why it has to be this way, and yet here I am...I have arrived at the end of the week safely, and I am still carrying hope, and I have a fairly positive outlook that it is all ok that I don't always know what I am doing. What is most important Is that I am on the path. If I am going to get lost, It is much wiser for me to stay where I can see a well-trodden path rather than to wander off into the woods. Yes, as far as this class I feel lost...but I'm really not. I have access to a tutor, other classmates, my teacher and even heavenly help that I know will help me figure it all out.
