When I'm Lost...

When I'm Lost...

This week with my class I feel like I am walking down a path and there are no resting spots, no signs posted that let me know how close or not I am at arriving at my destination. There is no one to sit down with to explain what I am doing or why it has to be this way, and yet here I am...I have arrived at the end of the week safely, and I am still carrying hope, and I have a fairly positive outlook that it is all ok that I don't always know what I am doing. What is most important Is that I am on the path. If I am going to get lost, It is much wiser for me to stay where I can see a well-trodden path rather than to wander off into the woods. Yes, as far as this class I feel lost...but I'm really not. I have access to a tutor, other classmates, my teacher and even heavenly help that I know will help me figure it all out. Remembering this is how I find my way "when I am lost..."

What I have learned...

  • I have learned that there are so many perspectives at what success is or is not. Many people have found financial success and lost what can make them happy. I believe that true success comes with doing and caring for what really matters to you. Doing this will give you purpose in whatever else you do.
  • I have learned that every effort we make is worth it. Whether we are learning that what I am doing is working or not. It helps me see the larger picture better when I just keep at it.
  • I have learned that children are my favorite teachers and if we really want to learn what is most important in life we will learn from them.

What I have yet to learn...

  • I have yet to learn to understand the language of finance.
  • I have yet to learn how to simplify. I have a tendency to over do just about everything.
  • I have yet to learn what is expected from me this week in class.

Spiritual insights...

Mark 1:36

"And Simon and they that were with him followed after him."

I want to be counted as one that follows him. This is the most important way I will not become so lost that I cannot find my way. As long as I follow him, I can always find my way and I will never have to go it alone.

Goals...

  • Find "happy" in my quest to find my way.
  • Find ways to love in meaningful ways.
  • Sponge up everything I can that allows me to keep moving forward and learning.
