My Little Farm...

My Little Farm...

I wish you could be here right now, the sweet little chirping sounds coming from the other room where our new baby chicks are being warmed and cared for in their cozy little container that we adapted for them to be for the first couple weeks of life.  We have been planning for weeks with our little grandkids to get some baby chicks. They have been over every week to help clean out the old pen and put together a new nesting house for the chickens to have the best chance to thrive. So, last Thursday the new chicks were arriving at the nearest IFA store. We have already missed a couple of new chick days and they were all sold before we even got a chance so we knew we had to be on the ball this time new chicks came in. We called the kids and arranged to pick up Jack and Clay as soon as the store opened, about an hour before the boys had to go to school. We headed out to get our new chicks. We ended up getting 8 and although I took note of what kinds we got, it is now lost and I just know we have 8 adorable babies. They won't be adorable for long though...in my experience, they go through a fairly ugly stage for a couple of months before they start getting their adult feathers. Then they come into their full beauty. We have also began planting our garden, How fun it is to see the little seeds begin to grow. We have even decided to try growing micro greens as well, which I love use to top off our sandwiches, eggs, or avocado toast for example.

Remember singing "Old MacDonald had a Farm?.... Moo moo here, quack quack there?... Well I have a little chirp chirp today on "My Little Farm"...

What I Have Learned...

  • I have learned that it is a wondrous mystery how people and information flow into your life when you need it.
  • I have learned that I can feel freedom like no other when I live by faith rather than by fear.
  • I have learned that It takes a lot of effort to build a business...but not to be overwhelmed....you can do it one brick at a time.

What I Have Yet to Learn...

I have yet to learn how to make and post a YouTube video

I have yet to learn how to organize old photos and family histories...I can't seem to find the time to even get them to a professional organizer....UGH!

I have yet to learn who left that lovely bowl of soup on our porch on a cold rainy day.

I have yet to learn to be confident as I experiment with recording myself for my class assignment.

Spiritual Insights...

Matthew 9:22

"...Daughter, be of good comfort, thy faith hath made the whole"...

How often do we have the desire to move forward in life but are caught in a situation where many times we are burdened with some kind of issue where we don't feel we can fully be a part of our community. Perhaps they have even shut you out. Maybe it is bullying, or just that you are a bit different in some way. These words Jesus spoke, point me to the possibilities available when we walk with, or even touch the the Saviors Garment.  We can find comfort in the reality that faith is powerful enough to heal the broken.

Goals...

  • Work to organize recipe binders.
  • Learn to do a YouTube video
  • Clean my house!
