The Problem...
The Problem...
Have you ever had a problem that made you feel completely stuck? It could be an addiction...family problem, school, or doing the seemingly impossible, etc.
I had a problem this past week with a project I was doing for school. was just one digit off and whatever I tried I couldn't find the answer. I literally sweat over it for days! It was balancing financial sheets and analyzing the cash flow of a business. I did the assignment over and over, not finding the solution. Finally, the time came that I just had to turn it in and move on. As I pressed the "Submit" button, I had an overwhelming feeling of understanding flooding my mind. I realized that each time I went over this project looking for the problem, I was learning as well. I was excited about what I had learned...I surely wouldn't have practiced as hard on other parts of the project without it. I gained clarity and even found joy in the work. The truth is, when you think about it, you can never find a solution without "the problem."
What I Learned...
- The hard work is worth it!
- I learned what I needed to learn to ace my final exam!
- I learned that taking time to do acts of service, clears out space in my mind for growth and learning.
- I gained an appreciation for numbers. They don't lie and I can be confident there is a solution.
- I can also be confident in the challenges God allows in my life can bring greater insight and learning.
What I Have Yet to Learn...
Still learning to trust in:
- Patience!
- Sacrifice!
- Confidence that comes as you finish strong and recognize that you are capable.
- Learning, which comes by intentionally seeking answers to problems.
Spiritual Insights...
Joshua 3:7
"... I will be with thee."
In the Old Testament of the Bible, the Lord tells Joshua to have the people prepare ...that when Israel comes to the river Jordan they will be able to cross on dry ground, but it wouldn't be until they acted, by actually stepping into the water, that the waters would part so they could cross on dry ground. He said not to be afraid because he would be with them. I felt this week as I prepared for my final exams. I first prepared. I not only studied, but I trusted God that if I had to take time to be with family or do service that it would be my act of faith that I would be able to make it through ok. I knew He was with me.
Goals...
- Enjoy Christmas and all the beautiful blessings that come with loving and giving of yourself.
- Do this because He, Christ is good and shows us how to be good.
- Prepare and do what it takes to prep for next semester.
- Have faith that I can do it!
