Waking up to Wonderful!

Waking up to Wonderful!

There are just days like that, where you wake up and your mind is clear and excited about the day and God gives you a wonderful gift like this rainbow cloud I witnessed....not a drop of rain but yet a rainbow ... almost like it is whispering of the potential of the beauty of the day. Even in the clouds of despair and sorrow, the beauty is there waiting to be seen.
This week has proved to be one of those weeks. We have experienced a health crisis and even personal tragedy. Family members have been overwhelmed with work or school almost to the point of depression. The pressure of the Holiday season... you know... that feeling of "There is so much to do!" ...is starting to creep into our minds and we begin to feel inadequate and it kind of adds "health and happiness stress" to the time of year when we should be rejoicing in the beauty of the season. Sometimes it just seems too much... and then... the change, the breath of fresh beautiful air of positivity that is like a boost of energy and remembrance that "life is so good", and without difficult moments we might not even notice the beauty found in it.
This morning I woke up to that realization feeling a flood of gratitude as I reflected on the difficulty of the past few days...and the blessings in the clouds...for example, I got to spend quality time with grandkids and really be a part of their life, my husband initiated some progressive ideas at work that worked out fantastic, my son got a job promotion and pay raise just because his boss thought he deserved it, my daughter's life was saved by medical miracles and the tragedy she experienced brought a greater awareness of the precious gift of life we sometimes take for granted. Another daughter saw the light in her future and with enthusiasm changed her life course with clarity and direction. A niece that is currently staying with us had a similar experience and has goals that are moving her toward a new independency.  I felt the burdens lift from their shoulders and this morning was like, "Waking up to Wonderful..."

What I have learned...
  • That we bear one another's burdens and feel their joy as well...
  • That I can trust in each new day to deliver important knowledge and adventure.
  • That lives are so connected and influenced by one another.
  • That taking a moment to look and see the good, will flood you with "Wonderful"...
  • That optimism is motivating!

What I have yet to learn...
  • How to read and analyze financial statements in my class. I'm trying to soak it all in.
  • How to keep on task and not get distracted.
  • How to not love chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream frosting so much!

Spiritual Insights...

Hosea 10:12
"Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you."

This is the "Law of the Harvest" ...A scripture I love...In all of the happenings of the week, I found myself pleading to the Lord for direction and help. Sometimes he is the only one you can turn to and I promise he has you covered, even through the rain...His righteous blessings fall.

Goals...

  • Get as far ahead in homework as I can so that I can enjoy Thanks Giving next week.
  • Make my calories count!
  • Love, like that is the only way to treat people!
  • Ok...and practice formulas for my business class...
