Thanks...
Every day we set the table so to speak, with expectations for what we do, think and experience. This week we set the table to gather as a family to celebrate Thanksgiving. Rooms filled with happy children and people. Food more than we could eat and hearts knit together with family and friends, some of which I had never met before, but quickly became family as they joined us in giving thanks and celebrating.
In preparation for this event, my son sent a video that says what I feel about life and Thanksgiving in a wonderfully perfect way. It was Titled, "Giving Thanks is More than a Holiday". It reminds us that giving thanks is simply how happy people live. It is what opens the door to feelings of joy, satisfaction, love and so much more. People who can feel gratitude seem to be more content with life and what they have. Feeling blessed rather than deprived by choosing bounteous living over the emptiness of never being happy about their circumstance. Life offers us too much not to stop and say "Thanks..."
What I Have learned...
- I have learned that I can get through an entire holiday with a messy bedroom and survive.
- It is worth the work it takes to gather your family together to celebrate...whatever the occasion.
- I learned about the tabernacle that the children of Israel carried in the wilderness.
- I learned that l can do hard things...
What I have yet to learn...
- To better understand financial statements
- To better organize my room before the company comes.
- How to create and have the courage to turn dreams and skills into business ventures that bless others lives.
Spiritual insights...
Jonah 2:9
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving...
Each day I can be thankful to do my part in bringing good to this world. What I do matters.
Goals...
- Get through the next 2 weeks of school trusting that I can do it and using my resources.
- Spend time loving and being with my family during this holiday season.
