Thanks...

Thanks... Every day we set the table so to speak, with expectations for what we do, think and experience. This week we set the table to gather as a family to celebrate Thanksgiving. Rooms filled with happy children and people. Food more than we could eat and hearts knit together with family and friends, some of which I had never met before, but quickly became family as they joined us in giving thanks and celebrating.  In preparation for this event, my son sent a video that says what I feel about life and Thanksgiving in a wonderfully perfect way. It was Titled,  "Giving Thanks is More than a Holiday".  It reminds us that giving thanks is simply how happy people live. It is what opens the door to feelings of joy, satisfaction, love and so much more. People who can feel gratitude seem to be more content with life and what they have. Feeling blessed rather than deprived by choosing bounteous living over the emptiness of never being happy about their circumstance. Life...

Waking up to Wonderful!

Image
Waking up to Wonderful!      There are just days like that, where you wake up and your mind is clear and excited about the day and God gives you a wonderful gift like this rainbow cloud I witnessed....not a drop of rain but yet a rainbow ... almost like it is whispering of the potential of the beauty of the day. Even in the clouds of despair and sorrow, the beauty is there waiting to be seen.      This week has proved to be one of those weeks. We have experienced a health crisis and even personal tragedy. Family members have been overwhelmed with work or school almost to the point of depression. The pressure of the Holiday season... you know... that feeling of "There is so much to do!" ...is starting to creep into our minds and we begin to feel inadequate and it kind of adds "health and happiness stress" to the time of year when we should be rejoicing in the beauty of the season. Sometimes it just seems too much... and then... the change, the breath ...

It Is A Gift...

It Is A Gift... Bret and I were on a walk a few days ago and I was hoping to see a beautiful sunrise... There is just something about seeing the sunrise that makes a day special. It was pretty early, so at first, the sky was just kind of blah and cloudy. I thought "Well not today I guess..." Then I saw a glimmer of yellow rising up in the east and the light became more intent and deep colors began to ripple across the clouds. The deepest yellows oranges pinks and reds are complemented by white, deep lavender, grays, and calming blues. I hurried and took a few pictures thinking I would like to share them with the family...At that very moment, I get a message...it is on our family chat. My daughter Tara was witnessing the same sunrise and wanted to share it with everyone. I laughed and sent her my picture which looked much the same. Then another text. This time from McKenna...She was just leaving her early work shift and was just commenting on the beauty of the sunrise to her...
