Fall Colors

Fall Colors...

Fall colors reflect warmth and are an inviting beacon to the holiday season. I went pumpkin shopping and founds these little gems. Each one looked more lovely next to another. Every shape, size, and color... they welcome me as I return home or as I greet those who come to my door. What else brings color and warmth into my life? People! This week I have been making contacts for an assignment in one of my classes. In doing so I have put myself out there and met some wonderful people. I have also been reminded how much I value the friends I have. These relationships are a treasure.

I had the opportunity to volunteer to prepare for the Half Ironman competition that will be taking place here in St. George at the end of this next week. It was just a small way to help...for nearly 5 hours I made clusters of safety pins to be put in the athlete's bags. While doing so I met some amazing people. One cute lady was 71 years old and was about as vivacious of a person I have ever met. She retired and moved here from the east coast a few years ago and doesn't waste a minute volunteering or traveling and camping around the west. She instilled in me a desire to be more "in the moment", and to enjoy whatever moments I can in whatever season I am in. Right now ...as a new season in time and in life approaches, I am going to enjoy the Fall Colors...

What I have learned...
  • I have learned that balance is important in financial reports as well as in life.
  • I have learned that I have to be strong while doing pottery. The new clay I purchased has some unique qualities that make it both hard and beautiful to work with.
  • I have learned that flashcards are very helpful in memorizing terms and formulas.
What I have yet to learn...
  • I still am learning patience.
  • I want to develop communication skills that allow conversation with respect for differences.
  • Still working on origination skills.
Spiritual Insights...
Jeremiah 30:11
"For I am with thee, saith the Lord...
My study this week included Jeremiah's scriptures. He did so much to warn a nation and although it seemed fruitless, God's hand was there, with him and in it all.
