Peach Days...
Peach Days!
Peach Day's are held on Labor Day Weekend in a little town in Southern Utah called Hurricane. I grew up in Hurricane....depending on when you grew up there you may say it a bit differently. Some say it with long "A" sound and some may say it without the "A" sound at all. However you say it it grows some of the best peaches! Honestly, it is hard to hold back and not eat so many your tummy hurts. The juicy tang of a peach is addicting and I for one, stop just about anything I am doing when I have the chance to get some. This week we bought some at Peach Day's and they ripened so fast I had to dry some. I didn't mind as they are such a tasty treat to grab and go.
Peach Day's are also synonymous with school. Most schools started recently and I start this weekend. I am really excited and hope I can keep up. I took some time to review some basic Excel formulas and just felt so blessed at what I can do today that I couldn't have dreamed of doing a year ago. So Here's to learning and using its benefit in life. Learning is not so different from peaches really. The yummy nutrient rich peach feeds me in ways that give me energy and drive to move and grow and stay healthy. The same can be said for learning. It is a feast of mental growth and adds clarity and vision to life and the energy I can contribute to the world around me and to my family.
What I have Learned...
- I have learned that I have not lost one pound in too long. Time to get going and get serious about keeping in shape.
- I have learned that I have been able to retain and use many of the Excel skills that I learned this past year.
- I have learned that I am enjoying pottery making and hope to keep it up during the semester.
- I have learned that when I reach out in Love....Love reaches back.
What I have yet to learn...
- How to organize my room. I think I just have too much stuff!
- How to do good slab pottery
- I want to work on improving my powerpoint skills and how to use my email more efficiently.
Spiritual insights...
Isaiah's poetic writing can be joyful to read. They testify and prophecy of Christ.
Isaiah 9:6
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a so is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Goals:
- Start each day with scripture and prayer
- Ponder my day each night and be happy with what I have done.
- Finish one of my books that I am reading.
