Peanut Butter Cookies
Peanut Butter Cookies...
A friend sent a text the other day asking me for my peanut butter cookie recipe. I took a quick pic and sent it. She returned the text later with a sweet note saying how yummy they turned out. This person is a great cook so to get a complement from her means a lot! I love that she took the initiative to reach out and connect so that she could have what she needed and I felt helpful...It was a Win Win situation. I feel this is usually what happens when you advocate for your needs. When you reach out to someone and ask for help. I am trying to do this as I am having a bit of a problem getting information of how to sign up for the class that goes with my internship. I will keep asking until I get it figured out. It seems at times that no one else can understand what you are feeling and what needs to be happening in your life. You really need to lead the situation. Not to be self centered or selfish, but to see that you are ready and persistent in getting things done in a timely manner. I have decided that when difficulties come at school I will willingly be the one who helps find the way and then be willing to help others also. Who knows, the result might be even. better than peanut butter cookies!
We said our last goodbyes to some of our family late last night and I am just picking up from what will be most likely the last grand-babies sleepover before school starts next week. It has been a whirlwind of a month. I am excited for our planned trip coming up and for school to start when I get back. I took my computer to get repaired and found it had a recall so that will work in my favor as far as it did not cost me anything. YAY! What a blessing.
What I Have Learned...
- I have learned that you have to continually be aware of the windows of opportunity when they come. Whether it is time spent with those you love or time to get the computer fixed. You don't always get repeat moments.
- I have learned that prayers are answered. The Lord watches over us and loves us enough to allow us to feel the struggles in life. It is in those moments that we find him.
- I have learned that we all have moments of crisis and that we can get through them
- I have learned again how much more I have to learn
- I have been reminded that we each have different perceptions of how life works. In our beliefs, goals and life experiences and what they teach us.
What I Have Yet to Learn...
- Still looking for my mission ...What I have to offer the world
- How to manage life in a way that I do it joyfully and more gratefully
- How to get to bed on time!
Spiritual Insights...
The Book of Job
This week we studied about Job in the Old Testament of the Bible. I learned about trusting the Lord and giving honor to Him. That trials are mortal and for a time that ends, But we will endure and if we endure well we will rise with glory and dwell with God.
In my study I was introduced to the story of a young woman, Jane Marczewski. She is an inspiration in her openness her experience. Read her poem, "God Is On The Bathroom Floor," here. Her professional name is Nightbirde and she was a contestant on the TV show "America's Got Talent" where she received the coveted "Golden Buzzer" by Simon Cowell. Watch it now.
From this weeks study and other events dealing with faith and family, I gained such an appreciation for what I have, that I can learn so much from the struggles and trials of others. I can be assured that God is there even in our greatest pains...He is found in the joy of discovery, in the toil and strife of life and even, believe it or not, on the bathroom floor. He brings glory to every experience...I will trust him.
Goals...
- Get registered for my class!
- Pack for trip
- Ready the Kitchen for resurfacing
- Do cook night
- Spend time with grandkiddos before school starts!
