Last Days of Summer...

Last Days of Summer...

The Grandkids have started school. The days are beginning to get shorter. The monsoon season has left us with branches fallen from trees, lots of late growing flowers...yes weeds ...and breathtaking sunsets and calm nights. 8:50 a.m. the traffic lines up on the way to school and soccer, preschool, dancing and karate are in full force. Everyone is back from vacations and the pickle ball courts are full as everyone is taking advantage of the perfect morning temperatures. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to realize the reality of the goodness of life. Soon we will be welcoming the holidays and spending time with family again. My anxiety is already increasing a bit with the shortness of the days. This is something that happens every year and I have learned that it passes as I keep busy. Fall semester for me will begin in less than 2 weeks and I think I am really going to have to expand my brain capacity this semester as I am also doing an internship as a requirement for my degree as well as 2 other classes. My internship is with Bret's business, M&S TURQUOISE. They have been kind enough to allow me to do it there. I am already spending quite a bit of time traveling with Bret. I work in the retail store on Mondays and am looking forward to learning lots.

I have been using some time to do some ceramics on my potters wheel. It seems that when I am doing classes I rarely have time for such indulgence of my time;) I have a few projects I hope to get to and realize more and more the value of each moment of each day. So here's to life, to the joy's of family, of creativity, of all the activities that come with each season and age of life... to lemonade, outdoor living and happiness as we enjoy the "Last Days of Summer..."

What I Have Learned...

  • I have learned that there is so much I haven't seen in this great country and would like to add to my bucket list.
  • I have learned that I will be doing more excel in my BUS180 class, so I better get busy and practice.
  • I have learned that I can learn more about God and the Savior when I am recognizing what they do each day for me and then show my gratitude and enjoy the song of thanksgiving that comes to my heart.
  • I have learned that dark days and moments have an end. They may reappear, but they will end again....this is the rhythm of life. It is the hope and struggle that strengthens our weakness and gives us perspectives that allow us to love others with greater empathy and understanding.
  • I have learned how to make ice-cream!

What I Have Yet to Learn...

  • I have yet to learn how to master accounting functions on Excel.
  • I have yet to finish 3 books I have started to read!
  • I have yet to learn how to wedge clay without leaving bubbles.

Spiritual Insight...

Proverbs 1:5

"A wise man will hear and will increase learning..."

I think often of the day that I decided to go back to school. I have seen so many blessings enter my life. I agree with this proverb...wisdom is found in learning.... Good because I need it!

Goals...

  • Make 4 more berry bowls
  • Take pottery in to get fired
  • Work on grandmas book
  • Find ways to reach out to my grandkids this week.
