Possibilities!

This is not how my "Mom" taught me to journal!

My mind is about to explode with all the amazing possibilities this blog can provide as I share what I learn and experience in my latest educational journey. I am curious as to what I will think next week when I look back and see what I have learned in a weeks time.

This Weeks Review

I have been reading all the information for my entrepreneurial class...The syllabus, class material and instruction, watched videos, took quizzes, participated in a discussion board, and spent the nights dreaming of what I want to be when I grow up. It was like Christmas when my books showed up in the mail!

Looking back on the week, I would say my take away is JOURNALING! The importance of keeping notes, references, Ideas and thoughts etc. where I  can easily access, review, evaluate, set goals and experiment. This blog even gives the potential for feedback. I can record what does or doesn't work. I can better see through the eyes of the "Me" that wants to conquer a task, and the "Me" that I am becoming by asking...What have I learned? How have I improved? Have I made a difference in the world around me? Who have I helped? Have I shown gratitude to those who help me? What is my next step? Where can these thoughts take me?..... Mind explosion again!...Here's to possibilities!

Lessons Learned

I have learned to think BIG! I can do this! My opinion matters!...Even though it seems I am starting from a step behind in technology and because of my age, I can learn in a BIG way and it will bless my life and the lives of those around me. Is't that a remarkable thing to ponder, how improving "YOU" can help others improve too!

I can persevere...I had to reregister at the last minute for my class due to problems with registration and did it just in time. Because of this I started class in a bit of a panic, but made it through the week...and here I am!

I learned how to install the testing software (I think).

I learned about the beautiful people who are feeling the need to improve and learn, just like me and had wonderful interactions on discussion boards. I met people from all over the world!

I can find friends and mentors in people who have already paved their way to success. I can learn from their models, their successes and mistakes.  In "Your Entrepreneur's Journal", Jeff Sandefer explains that my answers to questions when done thoughtfully can help me to "synthesize" what I learn making it more meaningful and useful later on.

I created this BLOG! For some that is not such a big deal, but for me it is a huge accomplishment! I feel as though I just produced an award winning movie. "And I want to thank my family who kindly listened to me and helped me to better understand Tech language...( and reviewed it to see if it worked!) I started with a couple of posts so be sure to check them out.

I learned that when you combine needs, passion and your abilities or strengths together, you have a recipe for success and the work you do will produce greater results. (Ideas taken from, Action Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence)

Lessons Not Yet Learned

Learning not to panic in stressful moments. Although my first day was a bit of a mess (and I got the worst grade on a quiz ever!), I am determined to see were this journey will take me.

I want to create and install graphics on my blog. I am always curious of the creative process of whatever I am doing. How can I make it look like I want it to? Or what don't I know that I should want to know how to do?

I can work to internalize methodology to where it becomes second nature in my actions and thinking process helping me to have better outcomes, or at least better learning experiences.

I struggle knowing what specifically I want to do and identifying my strengths and weaknesses. Right now I feel that any time I have a good idea that might be helpful in a big way I don't know how to make it happen. For example, as a young mom I remember taking my babies out of their carseat while they were asleep and having to put them in an uncomfortable stroller. I remember saying, "I should invent a carseat that fits right into the stroller." ...How do you make things like that happen? Some brilliant person took that idea and made it happen and now my children can enjoy the benefit.

Spiritual Connections

Alma 26: 12 " Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land for which we will praise his name forever." (Book of Mormon, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.)

Once again I am reminded that with God anything is possible.

Goals

  • Do something specifically for or with my husband and children.
  • Be intentional and observe what is happening around me...ask myself what do I see, hear, feel etc. Write ideas that come to me as I do.
  • Add yoga and meditation to my Exercise schedule.
  • Explore ways to implement graphics to this blogging journal.
  • Implement study skills that will help me have more confidence in retaining what I learn.
