  Can You Hear The Music.... Sometimes it is tempting to go through life just doing what we think we should because we see others doing it. We work, play, dress and even our belief system is influenced by the social norm. I have to wonder if this is a distraction from the ability to really be in tune with what direction we want our lives to go.  Bret and some of my kids have a band called, "Wooden Tantrum". They played at a local art festival this week. They play Celtic-style music and have a lot of fun together. As a young family when our children were learning to play instruments, we found that as they shared their newly found talent, they heard and felt something that they didn't seem to when they were just practicing for themselves. They began to play together and volunteered at care centers for the elderly, local libraries, and even small church and social events. Oh Beautiful ...Spacious Skies!

  Oh Beautiful ...Spacious Skies! This was my view on the way home from church a week ago. This mountain stands as sort of a guardian above beautiful St. George, Utah. It often has a white peak during the winter, but to be completely white is not so common. It is majestic and often takes my breath away.  This particular day made me reflect upon the patriotic song,  "America the Beautiful" . The spacious skies and...purple mountain's majesty...led me to ponder and feel grateful for this beautiful land in which I live. Part of what inspired those thoughts, I believe, was when Mckenna, our daughter, shared with us her experience of listening to someone read the Declaration of Independence  on YouTube. I woke up the next day and thought that was a great idea so I looked it up and listened myself. Wow! There are parts that I hear frequently, but listening to the whole thing was amazing and brought an understanding of the circumstances of that day and the price of the free...
